While the curriculum is tailored to meet each student’s needs, we generally use the Faber Piano Adventures for beginning students who want to learn to read music and play the piano.
Students under age 7 will study My First Piano Adventure. This series captivates young students with colorful pictures, fun characters, and exciting CD arrangements. While the student is engaged in this playful exploration of the piano, he or she is gaining an understanding of music theory, developing technique as well as building a foundation for future music studies.
Older children will study Basic Piano Adventures. These books are full of fun arrangements and will teach students music theory and proper technique at an accelerated pace.
Students who already have a basic knowledge of piano playing can take lessons on reading chord charts and improvising. This instruction is helpful for musicians who want to play in a rock band or lead music at church.
